    Re: Polaroids (and Fujiroids)

Playing around with my new Polaroid 405 back and Fuji FP-100c. Took four shots to get one that worked (first the back wasn't fully seated resulting in a white unexposed area, then I lost two shots to a weird light leak I'm still not sure of the origin of, except that it quit happening when I really carefully seated the back properly.) This stuff could be addictive though. The exposure is quite critical, like transparency film in latitude as well as the response to more or less exposure. I can really see where it would be great for proofing, as well as having its own merits. Now I'm already wanting two backs so I can keep 3000 B&W in one and color loaded in the other.

My wife Alicia, a special ed teacher, is starting a second graduate program in gifted education this summer. She was reading at the park while I played with the Polaroid back, then patiently sat as test model.

    Roger,

I confess I have three Polaroid 405 backs. One is loaded with type 665, one has Fuji FP-100c and one is a floater to load with any other expired film I have lying around (currently that is Polaroid Sepia film).

I was out with rince (Dennis) yesterday, and I goofed on a Fuji Instax shot. I pulled the darkslide while the shutter was open. I realized my error, closed the slide, pulled the film and simply chucked it in my bag. This morning, I decided to pull it apart and take a look. Here's the result.

(and yes, I got asked, "Is that a Hasselblad?" Seriously. On a better note, a fellow showed me pictures of his father's Speed Graphic.)
