I plan to cart along the 4x5 on Sunday.
Alex, I think you will like the Pentax spot. They are great no-frills meters.

Anything has to be better than carrying around the D2X or D3X with a 200mm lens and using that as a 1° spot meter... Metering with the DSLR at ISO100 at around F/4 to get enough light for it to even get a reading, then having to calculate the exposure time for my ISO50 film at F/22... By the time I have the meter reading calculated, dialed in on the shutter and ready to shoot, the lighting has changed and I have to start again... Hopefully with the Pentax spot life is.. well.. easier.

The best thing about the Pentax, I reckon, is that it gives a light reading in EV. If you have any lenses with an EV scale, you can then just set the metered EV on the lens, and you don't have to worry about shutter speed and aperture independently. Niiice.
I wish I could get to the Brisbane LF meetup but I'm flat out film testing and finishing a 8x10 Noosa landscape shoot with oddball lenses. Then its off to the Snowies with a hundred sheets of unexposed. Maybe next time.

Maris - Hopefully we will be meeting every other month mate, I'm sure you'll be able to join us at some stage. I would love to see some of your work from Noosa. I plan to head up that way in the next two weeks or so to give the new 6x17 a fly..

Its a nice image nonetheless Emma.
I sure wish I had that sort of turn around time.. Shoot and post the scan within 24 hours..
It was great to meet everyone yesterday and see everyone's different cameras... Decision is made. I'm going to need a lighter camera... I never would have believed a 4x5 could weigh as little as Stef's Chamonix... How great is that... If I can go (and have done before) 6kms with my Kardan, I can go anywhere with one of those...
For Sale - Linhof Kardan Super Colour.
comes with 2 copal 0 lens boards, one standard, one 9mm recessed. Will throw in a couple of double dark holders just for fun too.. maybe a quickload holder and some velvia quickloads. Could throw in a 90mm F/8 at the right price
