What center filter do I need?

Yes you can.

1984 Rodenstock serial numbers are in the 10,5xx,xxx range. 10,235,800 is a 1980 lens and could even be a late 79 lens as 10,000,000 was 1979 and 10,300,000 was a 1981 lens. These are production date numbers and not dates that the lenses reached distribution for sale. Some lenses could have been originally sold at retail a couple or more years after they were numbered at the factory.
