    calumet reflex viewer?

I got this from KEH--it said calumet binocular reflex viewer (no eyepieces)....

anyways..I got it and have been using it on a gowlandflex and graflex slr

now comes time I want to actually put it on my cambo type calumet 45nx type camera, and it won't go on for NOTHING...I think I'm missing the mounting piece that goes on the camera??? or is this for the old cc400 type cameras?

anybody know what I'm missing here? seepix

    Re: calumet reflex viewer?

well...the 1995 calumet catalog says that the thing I got is a cambo---keh listed it as a calumet....my calumets have the cambo backs and I have that OTHER reflex viewer too--the one for one eye that's i the link above...

now apparently I have a cambo back and there is no mention I can find of a calumet binocular reflex...so I assumet this is cambo, but it don't go on what another cambo reflex DOES go on...

so maybe this is for something ELSE...that is--I think keh screwed up and it's like a toyo or sinar or something like that--ANYBODY SEEN LIKE WHAT I POSTED...AND WHAT WAS IT FOR? IS MINE COMPLETE?

Can it be a sinar without the eye shield?

looks similar--but what about these buttons on the end with the grab hooks...or did maybe calumet adapt sinar ones for some special back adapter???

it LOOKS like the one in the calumet catalog listed as cambo, so I'm assuming it's missing something, but I cant tell from the photo since it don't show the back it's supposed to go to....

UNLESS....I have a revolving cambo back--maybe this is for the olde style cambo????

Glenn Evans has your viewer. Look here: http://www.glennview.com/vcamacc.htm You'll have to page down a little.

Not a Cambo. There are two ways of attaching anything to a Cambo standard. Either the bit attaches to the carrier frame like a lens board or it attaches to an international back like a normal Graflok accessory. The viewer shown in post #1 doesn't have anything like a Cambo board on it and it doesn't look like it can attach like a Graflok accessory.

Check to make sure I'm right -- I'm not always -- and if I am, raise hell with KEH. They're absolutely terrible at identifying LF gear that's out of the ordinary.

yeah...that's what I thought---REALLY looked like it, but it looks like conanw's link is IT...three spaces down and it's JUST like mine---"older" cambo viewer....

I see it attaching to a plastic piece that I don't have--probably for the older backs then...it has the buttons in the center where it mounts just like mine....it sure LOOKS like the sinar, but the mounting is different.

maybe the earlier cambos copied the sinar or used the sinar "working end"....

well--THAT solves the mystery.....now for which camera? well...it AIN'T anythiing I got...oh well..I did buy it for the gowland and slr and it does work for them...so I'm really not out anything...just figured it would attach and then????WTF????? you know?

    THANKS ALL.....maybe I'll sellit...small market man....

or maybe somebody's got that plastic mounting piece? it looks like maybe that mounts to the cambo back in the standard way with the center clips
