    Locking ring on a Schneider 150mm 5.6

I bought a Schneider-Kreuznach 150mm 5.6 Componon S enlarging lens on eBay. I'm going to buy a lens cone from Harry Taylor, but I'm not sure what size the locking ring is. He says most are 39mm and he has those. The trouble is, there appear to be two places with threads on the lens and I'm not sure which is the right one. There's one thread that's about 45mm that is nearer to the middle of the lens (from front to back) that has nothing screwed into it. The other one has a collar screwed into it closer to the rear element. Is that collar near the rear the locking ring or do I need one that screws into the 45mm thread?

If it's 0.75 pitch that probably means you can just get a cheap 50mm step-up (down?) adapter on Ebay and it will work.

Mine is - I guess - an older model. I found it listed on b and h photo as "no longer available" and there were specs on it which listed the ring as 50mm, which I ordered. Harry Taylor sold me a cone with a 50mm hole in the disk. Here's what it looks like: The collar around the rear element unscrews - that's the 39mm thread - and then the one that's visible it the 50mm one.

I have had the Componon S 150mm in two different mounting sizes: 42mm and 50mm. Not sure what collar you are talking about, nor 39mm thread.

In the photo you posted, you can see the retaining ring on the 50mm thread.

Yes some of the longer Componon and Componon-s lenses had two mounting threads. The threads on the rear cell group may be needed when mounting the lens on a turret.

The photo I posed was from B&H's web site. It's not one of my lens.

Re: Not sure what collar you are talking about...

The collar I'm talking about is the metal cylindrical ring that goes around the rear element. It unscrews. I received the lens cone yesterday, and it fits fine with the 50mm hole drilled in the disk. I'm just waiting for the locking ring from B&H. Thanks to all for the help.
