    Good thread, I'm traveling right now so no pictures but, would like to see pictures and write up of tripods that are using modified construction work tripods. Bosch and other manufactures
    I'm in the processs of building such project.

    Well this has me and the 14x17 on it. Walnut baby with a Gitzo 1570m head. I love my cam lock legs!

    Here are a few more images of the tripod. It is made of Walnut and the legs are controlled by a cam-lock design. Very simple, effective and adjustable. I use this for my 22lb. 14x17 and my 16lb 11x14. It is rock solid. The legs are 38". I can extend it to about 70". I do not need to do that as I'm only 5'6".
