So who is renting a big RV? Any space left for me with a sleeping bag and a 16x20 camera, a tripod plus a few holders and lenses? Foods in RV? Cost for the RV? I think Asher is going to give me a ride there from LA.

Hugo, think the big RV idea got a flat tire, think I will camp at Pacific camp grounds. Better take up Asher's offer, don't want to be left out in the cold.

This is one of 2 trips Iam really looking forward to within the next few weeks. The other is to Yosemite on March 5-8. For the Yosemite one, I'll be staying at the Ostrander Ski Hut (reservation for 2 but still don't have a snowshoing/XC ski partner). Overall, for me this year I will finally be at home for most of the year. Currently I am still deployed to Spain but that ends in a few more days.

    God Bless,
    David

I mean from my reading the shortest hike from parking to the spot where you can take a shot is over a mile. I can not do that with my 16x20.

I thought we were going to rent sand buggies, buy plastic sleds or some other sand friendly shlepping system????

So what's now technically and practically feasible?

Bill T and I are camping at Pismo State Beach. I have a 4WD 4runner but not sure I'll do any sand running.

I was going to camp out at that Pacific Dunes place , suppose to be right next to the non vechical Dune area.Half to check if its closed for the migrating birds first.
