Its about a mental way of extracting natural gas from the bed rock of the earth called Fracking. This is done using a massive drill, and then hundreds of thousands of gallons pressurised water, containing over 590 different chemicals is used to force the gas out, where it is pressurised and piped accross the country. Only half the water comes back out the ground, the rest, is left to the earth- contaminating water sources, killing plants animals and seriously threatening peoples health. (we're talking cancer, brain tumours, abnormalities, excruciating bone pain etcetc) good stuff eh? All of this, for only 5- 15 years of non renuable gas energy, which is shockingly being sold as CLEAN NATURAL gas. Whats neglected is the complete disregard for the health and well being of 'the little people' and the environment.

Thankfully, its not big in the UK yet. These horrible illnesses and destructions are happening a;ll over the US though, with thousands of Gas wells all over the country. The plans to use this source of ''green energy'' is still in its early stages on our side of the pond, with a test plant being constructed in Blackpool, now is our chance to stop these absurd plans for a dangerous and non renewable energy.

Wednesday 2nd November, Copthorne Tara Hotel, Kensington London, 3-6pm. protest against Fracking at its first big meeting to discuss its future in the uk.

The petroleum industry has been using it here in the US for a few decades. I don't want to take this down a political path, but it's my opinion that a profit tends to turn executive heads away from potential collateral damage.
The dangers are no different, here or there. Hopefully someone there learns from our mistakes.
