    Surprise Savings on Photoshop CS5

Just wanted to let everyone know of a surprise savings I stumbled across. I purchased a Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch for my laptop. Photoshop Elements came bundled with the tablet. The tablet and bundled software was $100 from Amazon. After I registered PS Elements I received an email offer from Adobe to upgrade to Photoshop CS5 for $299.

I purchased the upgrade which included PS CS5.1 64 bit and Adobe Bridge.

    A deal hard to beat.

Might be wrong, but that store, and those prices look too good to be true.
It's not the real Adobe store, just one made to look like it.

Yep.Ed is right. I have a WOT widget that evaluates websites before letting the page completely load. Upon loading the link, WOT says the site has a "POOR" Reputation.

Do you have a link for the particular tablet you bought and does it mention the Photoshop Upgrade in the description? Because my wife would like that deal but we'd like to be sure.

Adobe has been offering that $299 upgrade to anyone registering Elements for several years. Once they have your e-mail address they will periodically e-mail that offer to you. (I've been getting those e-mails for years from Adobe)

    Hi Frank,

Mention of PS Elements is down in the details. No mention of the CS5 upgrade. It was a pleasant surprise to me.

    Neat little tablet BTW

As university staff, I can get CS5 for $200 at the bookstore...but they have been out the last two times I checked.

For what its worth I never found these tablets to be very useful, I have an older larger Wacom and the disconnect between the tablet and screen make it a PITA. Drawing for me best done on paper and scanned, retouching of photos best done with mouse.Wacom sells that Cintiq but it is a lot more $$ and paper, pencil, brushes or airbrush and paint get me a lot more mileage. As always, YMMV.
