Self-Portrait developed in Caffenol. Still figuring this film out, but I like it.

Also, getting the focus right on yourself while also releasing the shutter takes some ingenuity.

And yes, I know the scan is terrible--need to clean the glass on the bed.

Very nice. How long was your exposure and did you preflash? I've got 3 boxes but haven't tried it yet.

Ah...well, I don't have studio equipment, so I was working creatively. Three Yongnuo 560's gaffer tapped together so all three heads were touching set to 70mm at full power jerry–rigged into a LumiQuest 10"x14" softbox with a whole lot of gaffer tape. Aperture was f/3.5. I left the shutter open for 1/2 a second, but it was too dark in the room for the ambient exposure to have much effect. No pre-flash.

I cleaned up the dust and had to reupload, so now the original link doesn't work:

Far northeast Albuquerque, made several weeks ago; the area is now blanketed in snow.

Harman DPP, 8x10 nested box camera, improvised meniscus lens, 225mm focal length, stopped down to 3mm aperture.

Hi Joe, it looks great. Did you pre-flash the paper? What development did you use?

Thanks, Paul. Yes, the paper was pre-flashed (about half the amount I'd normally give grade 2 RC paper negatives - I've yet to quantify the amount of exposure using a light meter, which would make a more useful answer to your question). I developed it in a Jobo rotary print drum, using Ilford MG liquid concentrate at 1+10 (10ml developer + 100ml water), 68f for 3:00, continuous rotation by hand on a manual rotary base. These drums are very economical on chemistry, as I did two such prints at once using only the 110ml of working solution.

Just wondering what people use for their safe lights when working with HDPP. I see see Ilford recommends a deep red bulb. I have an 11 watt Delta 1 Brightlab Universal. The list of uses indicated litho-orthographic. Will that work with this paper? Thanks!

I only had an amber filter on my Doran 5x7 Safelight, which made me nervous, but never caused a problem. I have a red filter for it now, however. The amber one worked, but was a lot darker. The red is preferred (apparently) and also gives me more light.
