Stunning! It's a great portrait, and I like how the hand & ring are in focus along with the face.

    Re: August 2011 Portraits

A friend asked me to take a few pictures with 'the old camera' at his wedding - too bad I couldn't find a better location than the parking lot
What the heck, it was a good exercise to work under (time)pressure with the large format camera, screwed up 2 from the 5. Lucky they booked a pro aswell

    cheers
    Tom

Great photograph that would make a superb bookcover for Oscar Wildes The Portrait of Dorian Gray or one of the currently in vogue Vampire, Werewolf, Supernatural, etc... novels

What is it about tap water that caused the problem? I see dust and some weird streaks, but I don't understand how tap water would cause either of the problems. I use tap water for washing negs and have not experienced that.

The wabi sabi effects have worked in your favor, IMO.

Perhaps you can make the portrait again for a perfect rendering. At any rate I really like it as is.

Sand in the water scratched the negs, but I think I like it even more that way

szadow, do you scan through the negative? I notice the notch code in the bottom right. Wouldn't this usually be in top right or bottom left?
I don't have a scanner, so I was just wondering...
Very nice photo, regardless of scanning method.
