Large Format Photography Forum Folio
March 2011
A collaboration by 12 photographers who enjoy using large format cameras and film.
In March of 2011, twelve photographers from the United States, Canada, and England decided to put together a collection of photographs. First and foremost, the work had to be completed using large format cameras and film, and the subject matter had to be some sort of landscape in either color or black-and-white. All of the participants are members of the Large Format Photography Forum, a group of like minded individuals that enjoy using large format film and cameras, something that is becoming something of a lost art. Hopefully, we can continue to use and photograph with large format cameras and film for the foreseeable future. As to the methodology of printing the images, the prints came in the form of silver gelatin prints and pigmented ink on paper, better known simply as inkjet prints. The type of print was solely up to the discretion of the photographer. Cameras used included 4x5, 5x7, 8x10, and even an 11x14 thrown in for good measure. Hopefully, this is the first in a series of folio collections with varying subject matter.
At the end of the folio are a couple of pages of information about the photographers and techniques used in both the capturing and printing of these images. Hopefully, you will find both images compelling and the information interesting.
