    Anyone shooting 10x12?

    Hi, all -

My Star Camera 10x12 is ready for shooting, I have film, and developer and paper will be here Tuesday. I'm hiking this behemoth and the Ries out Tuesday for some waterfall shooting. Been killing me not to use it for the past week, waiting on developer. But the time is almost here, and has me wondering: Anyone else addicted to this format? Got any photos/experiential tales to share?

    Scott

    No - but I do occasionally drag out the 24x30cm camera, AKA 9 1/2 x 12"...

I'm using 10x12, but no tales to tell yet. What did you want to know?

I believe Richard K in Toronto will be using that format very soon.
He'll probably respond to this thread in short order.

I dunno, Will. Just kinda seems an obscure format, and not oft discussed. Kinda curious how many folks are into it. I'm new to formats this large, and am just kind of wondering what everyone's experiences are.

Well, I'm kind of new to it, too. I've had the kit for a couple of years, but getting going has been slow. I think it's going to be a good format to work with. It is a bit more obscure, but I really look forward to the images.

I bought a couple of 10x12 holders a few years ago, but it wasn't until I learned about X-ray film that I became enthusiastic about the format. I hope to be ready to shoot this summer.

I'm thinking of shooting some as it works with 11x14 paper in Carbon Transfer with a safe edge.

Jay, we've talked, and I'm convinced that X-ray will ultimately be the steady diet of this beast.

The Star kinda fits my GateMouth tool bag (along with one holder). Weather permitting, and it looks good, I'll be carting the camera, the Ries, a holder with a couple sheets of film, and two lenses tomorrow. I have an 11-1/2" Euryscop IV #3 that covers wide open (just barely); I'll be using it with an about f/92 stop tomorrow. And I just modified the old Korona 6x6 board that my 18" Wray Lustrar was mounted to. Fits the 10x12 perfectly now, and that Wray has tons of coverage. Promises to be a fun morning.
