    It probably won't take you that long! As you use it you'll quickly figure out what parts of that swirling mess of theory to ignore. Over time you'll also learn when to pay attention to some of those details you learned. One is generally well served by being knowlegable, but even better served by adding experience to that knowlege.

    What format would be best to make the movie ?

    My camera lets me choose between NTSC and PAL

    NTSC is fo the USA and PAL is for Europe. I say NTSC and save it as a Mpeg4 as high a quality you can, 1080 if you can. It is easy to down sample but you cant up sample. If you have HD files upload it to Vimeo. Where do you plan to host the video? If you are going to make the video and offer it as a download do it in .mov format or .avi

    Lots of formats for the interwebs. AKf
