Erk, waitaminit! The ends of the clips have to be straightened with pliers so they are flat. You want flat clips, because otherwise your film will be nastily bent. I also use plastic clothes hangers, and put a big paperclip for a hanger through it.
Hmm is it just a coincendence that basically all the links on your blog link to Amazon? And that you seem have to setup a special flag in your links so Amazon can identify who clicked your links and bought something? Perhaps so they can pay you later?
I have been using wooden clothes hanger clips for as long as I can remember. Hell, you can find a bag of 25 for .99 cents. If they get crappy after a few years, just toss them away.
