Cool indeed. Of course I got it from Whitey. Mine is probably the twin to yours, and I've used it quite a bit. Works well on old cars and even granddaughters. And we'll be doing a little NEAPUG outing to the Cape again this spring, and I may use it on architecture.

Just the front element from a cheap pair of binoculars, mounted in the plastic housing and squeezed into a square masonite. Calculate it to be about f4. I guess the focal length is about 4-5 inches, and of course a focal plane shutter is necessary, or at least convenient.

I knew I should have gone with a Speed Graphic! If you ever get a chance, I'd love to see what it looks like. (Heading to Gumtree - the Aussie equivalent of Craigslist - to see what I can find)
