Tell me more! I would have never considered that. Nice effect and something I could potentially imagine as part of what I do.

Cool! You didn't get your binocular lens idea from Whitey, did you? He sent me mine.

Cool indeed. Of course I got it from Whitey. Mine is probably the twin to yours, and I've used it quite a bit. Works well on old cars and even granddaughters. And we'll be doing a little NEAPUG outing to the Cape again this spring, and I may use it on architecture.

Just the front element from a cheap pair of binoculars, mounted in the plastic housing and squeezed into a square masonite. Calculate it to be about f4. I guess the focal length is about 4-5 inches, and of course a focal plane shutter is necessary, or at least convenient.Click image for larger version.

I knew I should have gone with a Speed Graphic! If you ever get a chance, I'd love to see what it looks like. (Heading to Gumtree - the Aussie equivalent of Craigslist - to see what I can find)

Hoffy - I posted a shot of mine in the show off your LF camera thread. It isn't well lit, but I'll see if I can get a better one later.
