Hi Jim,
Below is a google image of the Dodges location. I just parked on a safe shoulder of the road and carried my gear onto the property to make my image. Next time you roll through the area stop by and get an image!
Hi Jim,
I have driven by that unique granite formation many times - but never at the time of day when the lighting is what want. When I am in that region I am usually on my way to photograph the Montgomery Pass herd of wild horses. (there are usually 230 + horses in that herd). I photograph them early in the morning or late in the afternnoon. To photograph them I usually have to hike with them for a couple of hours or so with 25+ lbs of gear until they settle down and except my presence. Since I live at sea level hiking with gear is a little tougher in the thinner air at 7 to 8 thousand feet elevation of that region. It is a challenge to photograph them with my 4x5 on a tripod... when they settle down they are curious and will walk right up to me - which isn't what I am after . I have also lost many good images by simply moving my arm up to get to my cable release - they get spooked and run. I now use an old air driven cable release with my hands positioned by my side when I photograph them.
That region is really a target rich environment for images.... you are lucky to live so close to it.

I found this truck body near the trail around Providence Canyon in Georgia. You might notice it has a good sized tree growing through it. I think it is on Portra film, Anba Ikeda with 150mm 5.6 Caltar.
Nice ones Gary.
Last time I was at Providence some friends of mine found that truck too, but I've never seen it myself. That's a nice area - much different than anywhere else in GA.
