Ash, I only shoot him between levels on World of Warcraft and outings to basketball and lacrosse!
Been a lurker here for a while, finally built up the courage to make an image post:

Stephane,
I had a line like that when I first started using my Heidelberg scanner.
For the life of me I can't recall his name at this very second, but the forum member who services Heidelberg wrote after seeing the line and told me how to access the senor and lens to clean them. it worked.
If you can access the lens, clean that next. If that does not work, the sensor.

So I bought a 4x5 contact frame on eBay last week. Seller said it had no glass, but that wasn't quite right. It arrived today with a 4x5 glass plate in place. Scanned it just now:
The plate's in pretty good shape, though the emulsion is just starting to lift at one edge. The photo is a time capsule - anyone able to date the cloths or decor?
A fun find.
"I love my Verito lens, but I always have to sharpen everything in Photoshop..."
I saw those knobs too....
The clothes were probably hand made. Probably a good indicator is those shoes. The lace up part or are those some sort of sock. They both are wearing them. Probably all the rage in the " blank"
From the shoes, I'd guess 1880's. Here is a pair from the Aurora Colony Museum (not LF, sorry):
They still make them for the Amish at the PW Minor Company in Batavia, NY.
