I really like both this and the previous one. They remind me of Polaroid SX-70's that have been manipulated before setting. I used to greatly enjoy the effect.

A couple of weeks ago we had very bad thunder storm in our area. The land our new development occupies was once a family dairy farm. A couple of years ago additional development was planned. The economics stopped the project, leaving three homes, a barn, plus a milk barn abandoned, now owned by the bank. Here are photos made this week after the storm.

The old Morley Store near where my mom grew up. She was born in 1928 and used to take butter and eggs there to barter for her parents. Long since abandoned but the store still stands.

No, but that's an interesting question.

I actually shot this back in the late 90s when I was doing photography, then let the hobby slide for over a decade until my girlfriend (now fiance) who's a huge fan of art got me interested again. I was going through my old negatives for a show I was invited to (sort of an "art of people who are also in our community" kind of thing.) I printed this one and another old one, one newly shot 6x6 negative.

The store is still there, or was last time I was in my home town. "Blue Springs" is a community outside there, the small town of Elizabethton, TN. I hadn't thought of trying to get access to the inside but now that you mention it I might try to find who owns it and see if I could arrange it. Looking at this image also makes me want to go back and do some much closer shots of details of sections, the door, windows etc.

EDIT: I see an oddity in my wording - she didn't "barter for her parents" but rather they sent her on their behalf to barter butter and eggs they produced on the farm for other goods they needed.

I would call that bartering for her parents. Cant choose them, sell them, trade them in, buy them, fire them, escape from them. Sad but true.

This is an old fireplace bellows from my Son’s home. Simply did not know where else to post it.

Camera – Old Speed Graflex with rear shutter and my new Scovill lens from Richard. I really like this lens. Film is HP5 in HC110 B

Good observation! Makes me think about having an old piece of wavy glass handy just to play with images reflecting off of it!

    Fun image!
