    Randy,

Just curious if you would make/sell a print without removing dust from the neg or spotting the print? I cannot see how that improves an image.

If the dust had been removed, you would have never known it was there. It was just an interesting comment on a rather nice nude.

I don't sell and I don't spot when I have as fine a print as the one in question. I retouch major problems.

    It looks perfect as is.

I often notice absolute perfection posted here, where there is no dust and I feel that detracts from...my appreciation.

This is not critique, the woman has reality in her skin, should that be gone as well?

    #1 I'm lazy
#2 small 'imperfections not only don't bug.. I embrace them..notice how a background stand might creep into a pix... sure..I could crop that out or move the camera stand a bit but..

my aesthetic is: who we trying to fool here? we're not outdoors.. we are in some sweltering yurt in front of some discount ebay backdrop.. playing dress up and taking photos..in B&W (which in itself is a step away from reality).. so the background stands or the wrinkles in the backdrop or the dust spots don't phase me.. I don't go out of my way to put them there however..

now.. big things like waterdrop marks or scratches that detract from the image..I'll photoshop them away the best I can

and...if someone else's aesthetic is more of a perfectionist bent... more power too them..

there's plenty of room for everyone

oh... also.. I'm not selling prints..so that might factor into it too

I was just curious, Randy, that's all. I will say however, that there is a rather obvious difference between natural skin details on the model and dusty negatives.

OP concurred and is very happy with his work, as am I.

    End of debate.

My only digital camera has sensor corrosion. I consider it my unique watermark.

LOL, let's not get into digital sensor spots.

But they are a major issue. My first DSLR had no sensor shaker or glue strip, so I would not change lens unless in a 'clean' room and then faster than a gnat.

    It remains clean.
