the irony is of course that every one is happy to get on their soap box and tear shreds out of each other and criticise each-others criticism and opine and have the last word and make personal insult till the cows come home, but to even talk about a photo placed on a public forum.... any one would think that the new world order has seeped into our fabric and made a nice beige/grey stain of political correctness, and that the fluoride in the water, has finally taken its toll on docile thinking, and any wiggle of life disturbs teh status quo of somnambulistic trance.


so far Frank has proved to be magnanimous, a real man, a level headed dude who has his feet on the ground. i wont post my opinion on others as its none of their biz. if they want it, they can ask.

i am still struggling with my photography but i have a vision i am trying to manifest. due to health problems which caused financial problems i have had a few set backs, but i am very much ready to get going again, so watch out!

I agree with Jay.

I sure wish more people would tell me what they think when I post photos, good or bad. Actually, especially bad, as that's what helps us get better, meaningful critique from others in our field.

I certainly didn't get several degrees in music without various professors, friends, and amateurs alike telling me what they thought of my playing.

It's pretty simple to mention that critiques are welcome when you post something, or in my case, you can assume that a little banter and jesting is fine. I bite my tongue to be polite on a lot of things I see but if you dug through my stuff you'd easily find a ton of abysmal shots.

The only thing I don't like is when some jerk starts insulting the human subjects, as some have done, calling them ugly or worse. That's just mean/bad form. But otherwise 29 years in the photo and ad biz has made me really thick-skinned about criticism and rejection. Almost all of the time there is something worthwhile from it, even if just a laugh. Bland kudos are welcome too but they do get kind of meaningless, unless you get a lot of them from random people you don't know - that usually means something positive.

It also matters who does what. Getting reblogged by Russian porn sites doesn't mean much, but getting picked up by Feature Shoot or one of the better bloggers is pretty nice.

I had a rare bit of extra time today and decided to follow some threads here on LFPF, this was one that I was curious about. Originally I thought I might post some of my experiments from the last year, but after seeing all the holier-than-thou, snarky, pissy, flame-baiting BS... NOT. But as a way to get some levity (and a damned photograph) inserted, here's a "nude."
