It's actually off the side of the kitchen, not a basement, the light is coming from sky light , those polls are stairs and there is a second set in the shadows that goes higher into an alcove which is a retro game room, it has Atari such, it's neat.
My friend rents it from a family of hippie type folk and the original owner built the section attached to the rock by hand. I love that plants and moss actually grow out of the rock, it's pretty neat.
At night they can use the stone to watch a movie while cooking in the kitchen. It's pretty neat, from the front you don't notice the texture, only from the side does it look like a wall...
