No, they are taught to calculate the truth. Very little time in engineering school is devoted to teaching them how to tell anything, including the truth, whether in speaking or in writing. They usually lack language skills, and often lack tact (especially in contentious situations where it is most needed), or both.

Lawyers are licensed, professional communicators, a skill they often put to poor use (especially when they are not lawyering).

well - a thread might be nice, but I am afraid only a few of us have images to show....

Instructions here will proberly drown in "discussions" about layers and so on...:-(

BUT look at my web site.

Thanks, Emil. Its not just nudes in light painting that i am curious about, but more just training in it as a technique.

So, basically its down to long and patient practice in visualizing...
Guess my main problem with it - lack of sense of rhythm - might want to try
metronome or something and as usual - practice on stuffed animals first

Btw, i remember one of guys who attended me workshop on strobes used to tell me that he bought his brush from small shop in Moscow that was making pretty cool light brushes from fiber optics and they even were F-stop adjustable (as in had varied aperture thingy on them). Beats simple bulb, i guess .. Not that i am handy with bulbs either

the light you mention (hosemaster?) might beat a simple light - except in price..... I like simple tools...

Practice - practice - practice.... You might practice with a digital camera first - the learning curve is much faster this way as you can see a result right away...

Look at this video. Ragne Sigmond is a fantastic photographer with her light paintings.. (digital but the technique is of course the same.. except for the iso/aperture settings...)

    Very good, Frank.

I was getting worried when you started showing bear ass photos. Thought senility was setting in.

this photo does not work for me....

it seems too ruff shod. there is no value in the background, its to small, and too sloppy, maybe if it was a perfect stretched canvass to frame girl. even then, as a prop, its going against the scene.

and the composition does not flow... the only good thing about this work is that you have finally admitted to being a hipster. x
