    Alternative to SK Grimes

In the interests of supporting other LF/ULF machinists I am interested in other alternatives to SK Grimes? I need a lens board drilled and a lens flange screwed into place and a Packard shutter prepared to be accepted on a barrel lens.

    Thanks in advance,

There's a guy named Ray who does this sort of thing. I think he's based at Denver Pro Photo now. Never used him, but I understand he does this sort of thing well. Call first at 303-595-3213.

If you can explain the job in machinist's terms go to CNCZone.com forums and put in a RFQ on the proper subforum. I just did this to get a new aluminum focus rod made for my Gowland and the responses were very reasonable.

    Michael,

Pro Camera in Charlottesville, VA just might handle work like this.

Perhaps I misunderstood, but doesn't Mr. Ritter do stuff like this, or does he not do machining?

    Politically, aerodynamically, and fashionably incorrect.
