Paper question...

I just aquired an Epson 1400 and am using MIS inks. I have an old box of Epson paper that is made for "Epson ink jet printers and Epson Sylus Pro 5000".

Is there going to be an issue using this. I tried some new 4x6 paper in an older printer and had a smeared mess. I don't want to risk a gooey mess in my new printer.
