    quickfix and bh-55?

is there a way to attach a linhof quickfix onto a rrs bh-55? i'm considering two versions of the bh-55: the one with no clamp or platform, and the one with a round platform of unknown diameter (1/4"-20 stud and 3/8"-16 adaptor).

The QF has a threded uole in the base for a 1/4-20 and/or a 3/8" coarse threaded tripod screw. Just go to a good hardware store like Sears, buy a headless 1/4 or 3/8" bolt about 3/4" long and a bottle of Locktite in the red bottle. Put a couple of drops of the locktite on one end of the bolt and screw it into the ball head socket on the stem of the stalk. Seat it tightly. Put a couple of drops on the exposed end of the bolt and screw the QF onto it. Let sit overnight. To take them apart at a later date you will have to heat the stalk of the ball head to 425°.

Otherwise just leave the ball head's top plate on it and screw the QF to the top plate. Any quick release can screw on to any head that does not have a quick release.

Or a three quarter inch long Allen head set screw will do. Then follow Bobs' advice with Locktite.
