Because the reprographic technique is history today such precious lenses like the Apo Ronar are cheap today.

Depends on the neg size, for 24x36mm it's 480mm but for 8x10" its 70mm.

Finally, wich is the maximum coverage of this lens?
As mentioned before the maximum image circle is 395mm so you can use it with 24 x 30 cm too.

    Lot of thanks, Peter.

I understand that in 24x30 cm this lens would be a normal lens - as a 150mm on 4x5"?

    Unless I just made a bad arithmetic error, normal for 24x36 (24**2 + 30**2 = 1476, sqrt(1476) = 38.4) is 384 mm.

    Re: Rodenstock 480mm

As a lens sold in the photographic marketplace the Apo Ronar, since we became the Rodenstock distributor in 88, was supplied in either Copal 3 or Prontor Professional 3 shutters and, since these shutters had too small an opening for the lens to reach f9 were restricted to f11 wide open and f90 stopped all the way down. However, since this lens is less then 600mm the lens was optimized for use at f22 only.

It covered a 396mm circle at f22 at infinity. Larger, of course, at closer ranges.
That means that on 810 it gave 59mm of rise and 50mm of shift in the landscape position.

As a process lens in NF mount the lens was rated at 1:1 to cover 18 x 24" film at f22. Again the smallest aperture was f90 although some older NF mounts might stop down smaller. But since the lens is designed for f22 you would be in diffraction at f90 or smaller apertures anyway.
