I was going to say that for that Linhof head to be only "$500 to $700" it would have to be a mistake, maybe by a decimal place!
Both heads look very useful and top quality. But the Arca does get a little garish with three or four white logos silkscreened on it. The Linhof branding is quite elegant.
i have been told by an arca dealer, former linhof dealer too.
he said the linhof 3d are "very inexpensive", comparing to the arca cube...
who knows? i guess we just have to wait and see.

My gear lust just took a bit of a hit- guess I need to sell some work to get ready for the investment I have been waiting for for quite a while- replacing my aging and very beat up Arca B ballhead.
Any ideas on when these new heads will be available?

March is announced for the Linhof.
I like the Arca geared head but $1000 is a little dicey. Anybody know how it compares in size and stability to the Z1 ballhead?
Latest delivery announcement by Linhof, as of this morning, first quarter of 2011. That can mean up to March 31, 2011 if they stick to the schedule announced.
