    Moving waste water uphill....

So OK I am getting more tempted to make a small home darkroom again... even though I swore such things off years ago.

Except our basement is below grade and we're on a septic system and I don't have a good way to get the waste water up and over the 3-4 feet it needs to go to get out.

I also need to exhaust fumes out of a basement cubby with no apparent exit... I'm only ever going to do B&W. Just wondering out loud here....

Before I talk to plumber I'd like to get an idea of what some of the options are? Pros and Cons, prices...

    Okay, everything a plumber knows:

Hot on the left, cold on the right. Shit runs downhill. Payday is Friday.

    Hope This Helps...

No I don't want to trip over a hose going to my sump pump on the other end of the basement!

This isn't a Ghetto installation, I am going to grow old and die in this house!

I have to pump up and over to my drain also. My sinks just run into a sump container with a pump that triggers a a certain level. Check plumbing supply houses for this, or W.W. Grainger. My sump is similar to this -http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/DAYTON-Sump-Basin-Sink-Tray-4RK10?Pid=search . The pump is something like this model - http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/DAY...U66?Pid=search . You don't need too strong a pump, just enough to keep up with the water flow of your washes, and dumping tanks.

My pump-in-a-container ends up with pipe off the floor into the main drain, which exits the basement wall 20 feet away. It works well enough, Although if I work at it I can overflow it.

Put a computer in your darkroom, load Photoshop, set a try of fix next to the computer for old time's sake, and you're ready to go.

I use a contained pump, sold at Home Despot, made for a basement laundry sink. It has a tank, with a pump inside, and an automtic switch. Just pumps out to an obscure area of the yard. Uses 110 volts, and cost about $150 if I remember. I recycle the used fixer to a local photo place.
