Cokin pola-red for b&w?

Quick ? please.
Just picked up a few cokin filters cheap from an old school lab barely hanging on.
Specifically an pola-red I though I could use for my 4x5 b&w work.
Will it work? Dont know anything about it.
I use a straight red for my big lenses, thought this work work on my smaller ones.

I have excellent results using my Pola-red for B&W. Makes for great clouds and seascapes.

The reason I asked this ? is that, I only saw examples of it being used for color work thru the info super hi-way search.
