I wanted to let my Large Format Forum friends know about my upcoming exhibition opening reception and lecture this Saturday, August 21 in Yosemite Valley. The opening reception for my exhibit at the Ansel Adams Gallery will be from 4:00-6:00 pm. My lecture “Inspired by Yosemite: Photographs by Ansel Adams and John Sexton” will be presented that same night at 8:30 pm at the Yosemite Lodge outdoor amphitheater. Both events are free and open to the public. If you happen to be in Yosemite, please drop by and say hello.

I am adding a special section to the lecture dealing with the glass plate negatives that are alleged to have been made by Ansel Adams. I will be sharing factual information, and verifiable images made by Ansel related to this topic. The materials I will be sharing will provide enlightening information and images that should help clarify all of the recent media “buzz”.

The exhibition will be on display through September 26.

You can find more information at the Ansel Adams Gallery web site:

My 60 print retrospective exhibition will be on display through August 28 at the Center for Photographic Art in Carmel, California. Thanks to the Large Format Forum members who attended the opening reception and have left kind words in the guest book.
