Not necessarily kind but I can spend some time and help out here by putting all the info in this thread into Excel. Can email and then Dan can easily extract and put into his format. I'll use the quarter/year format for timing as it can be hard at times to get the real sell date.

I also agree that some other classic/rare lens sales are of general interest and deserve an airing here - but it would require a linked and updateable website to collect and collate - in the same way as CC has done with soft lenses.

thanks, yes it's an interesting and pretty heavy lens

Rudi - that'd be great ! If you can pick up the date (by quarter, price, location (ie ebay) and any notes that might be important (poor cond-old...black or brass etc...)

    Thanks !

The Hermagis version of the No.3 has a FL of about 275mm.
Mine is in aluminium as well, nearly identical to the version sold after the acquisition by Berthiot.
I guess that the 375mm focal length was a typo.

If i am right, i hope that the buyer didn't bid so high because of the advertised FL!
Whatever... the Eidoscope No.3 seems to have very volatile prices. Very recently two different examples sold for much less.

    Nope.
The seller listed a wrong number of the lens.
The actual engraved number is No. 2.

Som Berthiot is the late version of Hermagis.

Confirming the Berthiot is actually #2 (as engraved) and has a focal length of 375mm as engraved on the barrel. The listing is in error.

The Sinar board mounting and the additional Sinar adapter to Kodak 2D inflates the the lens price of course. I can see this adaptor as a desirable item for those with a variety of old and new 8x10 camera's

In addition but not related to this lens, just a reminder the Eidoscope lens #'s can be confusing at times when it comes to focal length. Some of you may have seen the link below:

    http://mauritsbollen.com/2012/01/a-h...is-not-a-no-3/

In short, test and doublecheck when in doubt ...
