Well, I've seen some beautiful images from the 18" Radar, so if it's that, I won't complain
Well I received the lens. For sure, no engraving anywhere to be seen. The parts screw off easily and I see that there are indeed only three lenses in three groups. The configuration and placement of the lenses and aperture follow exactly this diagram; thus i'm 99% convinced the lens is a Sgimar (woot)
Everything about the lens is in wonderful condition. I shopped well
One problem (I know it doesn't belong here), while I was trying to check to see the if the middle lens is indeed concave/concave, I was dumb enough to get it stuck in the barrel (the lens is tilted with respect to the perpendicular axis). If anybody can help me fix this without cracking the lens, either in a separate thread to by DM, I would be eternally grateful. Thanks all for your input, and please look forward to some images from this lens elsewhere soon!
By the way, the Wollensak Varium is the exact same triplet design, I believe. As are Cookes, and a few others. It's going to be hard to ID with no writing anywhere.

With the Cooke design, though, doesn't the diaphragm come between the second and last lens? Also, I always thought Cooke triplets have two convex/convex and one concave/concave in the middle. The front element of the lens I got is a convex/concave, as in the optical design diagram above.
And if it's a Varium, well then, I won't complain at all, as i've heard they're pretty much the same lens. I'm really not worried about the brand/label or even the resale value (don't plan to resale it), as long as it's going to give me the look I've been looking for for the past several years
The layout shown is a bit different than the Cooke Triplet, especially in the front element and the aperture placement:
"I love my Verito lens, but I always have to sharpen everything in Photoshop..."
Looking more and more like a Sigmar!

Some one got a steal on this one ... never saw the listing in the first place ...
