In Midtown (20 & J area) there are a few galleries. There is some interesting stuff up in the Grass Valley / Nevada City area, can't tell you right off hand though.

The Viewpoint Photo Art Center is in Sacramento, and has some interesting exhibits going on now. If you really want to surprise them, ask to see my prints in the portfolio drawer!
