Calculating DOF, tilt angles, etc...

Hello. I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any programs for the TI-85 c alculator for large format photography (tilt angle, DOF, etc.). If not, I would settle for just the formulas used for these applications. Also, are there any al ternatives to the "Rodenstock Calculator?" Thanks.

Try here: www.bobwheeler.com he wrote a program covering your needs.

He lists a TI-89 version. I'm not familier with Texas Instruments calculators but maybe it's compatible.

I use the aforementioned program on my Palm m125 and find it very useful. Normally I just wing it, but when I really need accurate calculations, it really simplifies things. I originally had made my own programs for calculating this stuff when I was using my TI-82 for the purpose. I don't know if you've done much programming with your TI-85, but once you get the basics down, it's not too hard to create programs to do this kind of calculations.

For what its worth, the TI-89 is an amazing calc. I am not sure if others have this unique feature...but with the 89, you can enter any formula you want, then solve for any variable in the formula without re writing the formula for each variable. That is even more powerful than a spreadsheet! I find this so helpful as I can solve for any variable at anytime.
