Oops! Efke 100 shot at iso 320

I was shooting some 8x10 HP5 (set the meter to 320) and switched to my 5x7 Efke 100 but forgot to reset my meter. I hate to lose those shots and wondered if there was a way to salvage the negs?

I develop with rollo pyro and jobo expert drums.

    I'm open to any ideas...

    Thanks,

    Alan.

Push about 1 1/2 stops, about 30% extra time, I think, but look up the "massive developer chart", it has good basic info for most combinations of film and devs.

    Alan,

While not identical in all aspects to your circumstances, there's some info on pushing with pyro and rotary processing here:

    Good luck!

"Pushing" film, a term I hate, will only increase density in the highlights. Film which is underexposed by 1 2/3 stops will have no detail in the shadows. The imagery will be available in areas from just below middle gray, Highlights should come through in pretty good shape with extended development.

Get DIAFINE developer and you'll be in good shape.

FWIW I have found that Diafine does not really push Efke 100 at all. I shoot a lot of Efke 100 and develop a lot of it in Diafine and always rate it at 100. I tried to rate it as 200 once and the negatives were very badly under exposed.

I have found that despite what the box says Efke films really do not like under exposure at all and handle over exposure MUCH better

That is beacuse the film really is much closer to 50 Iso instead 100 as it is labeled.

Sorry to give bad advce. My Diafine experience is with other ISO=100 films, and TechPan. I've developed EFKE 25 in Rodinal 1:50 with great results. Again -- apologize.

Bill, i don't think it bad advice to use Diafine, it is just the film that in my experience is 50 Iso. If Diafine will give you 100 Iso it did push the film one full stop.

Efke 100 in Diafine looks OK-ish rated at up to EI200, but at EI320 you're gonna have some pretty empty shadows.

Better than nothing, though - you might like the effect.

I don't know of any other commercial developer that's going to give you more speed than Diafine, BTW.
