    Using 165mm Super Angulon

I have just bought a 165mm super angulon. I know it is roughly 23mm in 35mm terms. If I am using this on a 10" x 8" camera for inside churches for vista shots. Would there be any curvature of the image or would this be ok? Ray

This is exactly the sort of shot where the Super-Angulon excels......very low distortion, large coverage. Should be ideal once you have mastered focusing in a dark interior with a relatively dim lens (LED torch for focusing?).

    Good luck!

Phil, what about keeping things vertical, is there no very slight curvature or is this lens not wide enough for that?

The Super-Angulon is a rectilinear lens with very low distortion. Ask your lens, mount it on your camera and focus on a brickwall.

I haven't noticed any distortion with mine but I haven't made enlargements, only contacts (everything is straight). Now my 65mm on 4x5, that distorts.

The lens is specifically designed NOT to produce curvature as others have mentioned. The distortion is pretty much negligable for pictorial work (for surveying a different approach might be needed).
