    Canson Injket Papers

    Hi all...

I haven't done any inkjet printing in a long time, but the new Canson papers made me curious, so I ordered a sampler pack. There are some papers here with a beautiful surface, so I'm intrigued.

The thing I like about gelatin papers, as well as printing in palladium and gum are the surface qualities and the way the tone interacts with those qualities.

I'm not expecting these to match that, but maybe they can make a beautiful little book of print reproductions...

I'll report back after I've had a chance to print a few on my 3800...

I've been testing them a lot, their mattes are great papers, their photo surfaces great minus...
Of course they have premium prices as well.

    Tyler,

I also picked up a sampler of the Japanese papers by Moab. The unryu with the long fiber occlusions looks very interesting and could be fun with the right print.

Who has the Canson papers at the best prices? Hmmm...

I have a great ongoing relationship with my friends at Shades Of Paper, so I go to them 99.9 % of the time, even if I can find the occasional slightly better deal. I think I save more in the long run by building these relationships...
Locally here in Seattle, Glazers Camera has been great and they had me make some in store prints for them on various Canson papers. I go to them as well. I should add they have been very supportive of the large format community, stocking tradional materials, and even organizing the recent special 5x7 TMY run.. need another PLEASE!
