Thank you, Jim. Indeed, Isopan was a wonderful film developed in Pyro. At the time, early 1950's, I was making 4x5 contact prints on Defender Varigam.Originally Posted by Jim Noel

In any case, after it was discontinued for the consumer market, Fred learned that it was still being made for the government, and offered to buy a full production run. They turned him down. Too bad.

Yes, you are correct. Defender Photo made Varigam until the company was purchased by DuPont after WWII. I believe the Defender name was still used in the early 1950's on the DuPont product.
