    You can wander about 90% of the base as it's back under local control. There is an area in the NE corner, where apparently nukes were kept, which is off limits, and a building or two have been re-used for business now, but it's pretty much no fences have the place to yourself. I'll post some more photos over the next few weeks to my flickr photostream if you want that diversion.

    I have heard many stories of people yarning about how bad the winters are up there. I noticed the sign posts are a little higher and the roads a little wider on account of snow pile planning. This area, and a little portion of North Dakota get some of the coldest weather in the lower 48. Thank you for serving there.

    Thanks, Jody. The negative is a bit flat--I should have given more development--but the detail is amazing. I'm not sure how it looks on-screen, but all the fine threads in the fabric are visible in the original scan.
