Wanted New Cylinder for Salthill Easel

Does anyone know where I can purchase a new cylinder for the Salthill 5 bladed easel?
My cylinder has worn out and when I flip open the easel it will slam down if I do not hold it up? Is Joe Saltzman still around and does he have a mailing address to ask where I can purchase a replacement cylinder? Maybe I will try a McMaster - Carr catalog. Thanks for your help.

McMaster has a ton of gas cylinders. That's where I buy replacements for my car.

I have the same problem. If you look at the cylinder, you will probably find the manufacturer (mine is "Suspa") and the product number. A little goggling will find them and the model you need. Be prepared: they are more expensive than I expected.

Yikes...$100 for one hydraulic spring! I have two Salthill easels (I paid less than $100 for each) that have dead hydraulic lifts. I wonder if it is possible to fab up a traditional spring system (like the ones found on beard easels) and retrofit them.
