...Dilettante! Who you calling a Dilettante?
An image made with the old Japanese 5x7 camera I repaired recently. The new custom bellows from China fitted perfectly and are thin enough to fit neatly into the slim camera when closed. These are the first successful images made with the camera, the very first images were spoiled by light leaking between the back and the film holder. The camera as-supplied was bare wood painted black, and it was not sufficient to prevent light leaks. A coupe, of strips of felt fixed the problem, and because it was stuck to the back of the camera it did not affect the position of the ground glass (or more correctly, the felt moved the ground glass and the film holder an equal distance).
The camera only really has one fault and that is that one of the gears on the rear focussing shaft are missing, so focussing is awkward. What I do like about the camera is that it is great for wide lenses, so I'm using it with the older Fujinon SWD 75mm f5.6 lens, which has an image circle that just covers 5x7 with absolutely no movement.
Film is Fomapan 100 developed in Kodak HC-110 1+39 for 9 minutes continuous agitation at 21 degrees celsius.

Old wood Japanese 5x7 field camera, Fujinon NSW 105mm f8 lens, Fomapan 100 film in HC-110. The boats were constantly moving which necessitated a reasonably fast shutter speed of 1/60s and f16 so a bit of front tilt was used.
This is the first image I've made with this new-to-me Fujinon NSW 105mm lens. I'm liking its wide angle: on 5x7 it has a FFE of ~21mm while providing a bit over 20mm of movement each way. Yes, a 90mm lens could have covered 5x7 and been a bit wider (~19mm) but the f5.6 lenses I own won't fit through the front standard, where this 105mm lens did (with a bit of trimming) and I opted to by something completely different than an f8 90mm lens just for this camera, which is becoming my wide angle 5x7.
And Arca-Swiss has relaunched the 5x7 cameras for some more precise choices.
KB Canham also often has 5x7 film as well.
