Category conflict. Architecture? Urban landscape? An apartment building near my home in San Francisco viewed from the hill in a nearby park on a very windy day this weekend. I'm guessing that the building was build in the 1920s.

The lens is a loaner from a friend who no longer shoots LF. The more I use it, the more I really don't want to give it back.

Triptych from my documentary series on Willet's Point. The City of NY is slowly buying up these properties to "redevelop" the area into a commercial and housing center. There are no sewers, the city does not plow the streets in winter, and they all pay taxes. It has been a junkyard and auto repair haven for nearly fifty years. I'm going to miss photographing here.
There have been claims of eminent domain abuse, but it seems to be going no where. The people who work here don't have the power to fight the big developers.
It is no an uncommon occurrence when the NYPD blocks off the streets while the DEP raids businesses and writes summonses. This shuts down everyone's business for hours.
It is a stark microcosm for America's love affair with the automobile and it is bisected by three of the largest highways in NYC.
The people here are fond of their little town.
This is a Sunday afternoon -- it is normally very busy.
I do not know why the flag has more than 50 stars.
I think the guy on the roof makes this one.

And John, your triptych is amazing. I looked at it for a long time.
Guy on the roof. He's sharper than he looks here, no pun intended
