Very nice view, chassis, I see no traffic on the Hudson, what time/weekday was it taken?
Cheers,
Renato
Thanks Renato! This spot is interesting because of the wood decking, and the view of the cables which for me are a big part of the interest in this bridge. The Manhattan Bridge and Empire State Building are also interesting to me from this location.
The picture was made yesterday (Saturday) at 12:00. The East River in the background had a few police boats moving back and forth, and also a barge came through a few minutes after I took the photo. As you noticed, not much traffic. Had it been during the week there would likely have been more water traffic.
The 5 deg C and windy weather kept the number of tourists to a minimum as well.
Very nice image.
Great location, composition and camera position.
Yesterday was quite overcast, but the clouds create quite a mood.
I also like the image with a bit of the deck cropped from the bottom of the frame.
Seems to add more importance to the bridge and the arch of its span while the deck boards still lead you right to the bridge.
I know just enough to be dangerous !
Thanks Dennis. I agree more emphasis on the bridge and less foreground would be good. New York City is a target rich environment for making photos!
