Not sure why, but, thanks. !
No, in all seriousness though, thanks. I understand it's not a "normal" image. I try to avoid overly obvious imagery/subjects.

I enjoy it because it feels quiet when I look at it. The small tree/shrub to the right has slight movement - and the red filter really blows out the dead leaves, which easily are given some life back with the toning. It's hard to examine, for me, because the posted image is so small, but it's printed at 22"x27.5", where it really comes into its own and the leaves and texture of the drain make it obvious it's from a large format negative. I appreciate the above-posted comment Steve.
Whalen,
I like it because it depicts the ultimate urban edge. Behind the viewer is the city--and a step beyond the manhole cover is the forest. To the right of the manhole is a faint path leading into the trees, and it would lead me into a quieter, more peaceful place. The manhole cover becomes an escape hatch.

The location is a rather odd setting. The path is behind an old park near the river. The manhole is near a well in the middle of the woods (which was the original reason for photographing at the site). It's half sketchy, half intriguing.

I'm liking that first one a lot. What are the specs, if you don't mind of course?
They're both Kodak Portra 400 with a Nikkor 120mm f/8.
