Tenba P264 adverised weight way off.

Just received a new Tenba P264 Backpack. The weight listed on their website is 3 pounds and 10 ounces. The actual weight of the pack is over 7 and one half pou nds empty !! Their response was that they have not updated their website after i mprovements made on the pack. Wonderful !!Does anyone know of a similar size bac kpack that might weigh less ? Would be used to carry an Arca-Swiss F line 4X5, 3 lenses, meter, quickload holder, etc.. Any help would be appreciated. Don

Tenba p264 is a very comfortable backpack.

Don, most bags of that size are six pounds or heavier. The Lowepro Phototrekker is about seven pounds.

The good news is that with a good harness system, you won't notice the weight - perhaps Tenda was listing the " ... it feels like ..." weight !!!

A current check of the Tenba web site now shows the weight of the 264 at 8 lbs 8 ozs. Their larger bags still show lower weights, 5 lbs for the PBA and 8 lbs 5 ozs for the PBH. Maybe you just need a larger bag!

I think I have the same model Tenba backpack, though when I looked over the bag I could find no model designation. In any case, it is large and it is heavy. However, Tenba products are remarkably well made and I believe you've made the best choice possible. I have a Tenba 35mm bag that I've used since 1977, and it shows minimal wear-- practially none!--after being overloaded and abused for all these years.

When I bought my Tenba backpack, I looked over B&H's entire stock. There really was no other bag that offered the size, quality, features and durability of this pack. Anything that is close will be just as heavy. And, for what it's worth, it's very comfortable to carry. Just add a few more squats to your workout routine and you'll be very happy with your Tenba pack.

I think I got the same Tenba for my medium format outfit, and it works fine. I especially like the additional large and smaller compartments that have been added to the cover. They give me extra room for my exposure meters and accessories. I don't have the open the main compartment to retrieve a meter.

I looked at all the others, and this one best met my needs.
