    I like it for you!

I need glow in the dark steps. I often don't see the last step and fall down in a stumble. Good thing I am really good at falling!

My last 2 homes had no steps on purpose.

I really got to watch out.

Now you've got me thinking about little LED strips on the lips of the stairs...

Sometimes at night my wife comes down to see what I'm printing and she has trouble on the stairs when it's pitch black, we'll see if the red helps. For a few months I had the stair light one of your famous red LED bulbs, but then it was annoying in the daytime and I wanted that space to display things. Hence wanting a way to switch from normal to red light at the socket...

Anybody seen something like this with independent pull chains or switches for each socket?

    Can't seem to find one.

Edit: Never mind, found this that has independent socket power with pullchain light. I've got a few plug-in adapters for the LED bulbs and will just plug them in like that, always on when the light fixture is on.

Ok I'll stick my neck out and show my darkroom in development. The room is in transformation from an electronics/ motorcycle /RC plane hobby room into an analog darkroom and digital work station.

ID:	176503On the right side is a workbench with the digital workflow, and a Durst L1000. Under it I have an IKEA rolling cart with chemistry. On it I i can develop up to 40x50cm (16x20?) prints. The bathroom down the hall serves for washing and film development.

Things to do include finishing installing a radiator as the basement room cools down to 17 degrees C in winter. Installing power in the room. Now I use an extension cord. Mounting safe lights in permanent positions. Installing a repro photo rig for digitizing and for my daughters art.

Really long term I dream of installing running water and a sink.

So what do you think? Any suggestions?

Looks good to me. Stick your head all the way. You have tall ceilings. JOKE

One hobby at a time is enough. I still ride motorcycles, no longer collect them.

I see that meter in the cabinet...

    You will want running water.

You reminded me that I need to rearrange to use the full height of the Durst. The high bench it is on now limits print size. I am still not happy with the layout, and may go for the traditional wet side/dry side layout instead of what I have now.

The meter is part of a crazy electronics project i never finished.

I need to poke at my old tube radios. 2 of 3 are down right now.

A Grundig SW, Telefunken SW and a nice Magnavox AM FM.

The Magnavox worked for me 30 years, It's 50's blond wood mono.

The Telefunken also worked for 20 years after bringing it home strapped to an R750/5 seat.

Its solid Tech! You won't see to much digital stuff working in 20+ years.

Maybe not, but the Tin Whiskers meme seems gone.

Right now I am listening to my Sangean ATS 909 which has run for ~15 years almost 24/7. And my new travel radio is unbelievable, $20 Kaito KA 321, tiny thing, SW, good and loud. Runs forever on 2 AA. The Sangean eats batteries in hours so it's on AC.

I need to get a Mobile 2 meter rig one of these years...

    Re: Lets See Your Darkroom

    cheers all,

    finally finished my darkroom.
Its a long sausage, 6 meters by 2,5 meters. Not very tall, but I am not banging my head anywhere.
its all based around the durst 138 with color head cls 301 and the CPP3/ATL 1000.

got a 1,75m sink i have built in my woodshop, birch plywood (18mm) epoxied (all wood furniture i made in my shop).
on top of it you can see 1 of the three tops i made for it. if all 3 tops are laid over the sink,
it becomes a quite large work surface for other use than washing.
Beneath the sink are print drying racks (10x for 50x60 prints)

i installed a vent to keep air clean, it pumps 350 cubic meters of air outside,
thats about 10x the volume of the room. PVC pipe is cheap, i had no space for a hood.

really happy to get on with work
