Nice Jim, shiny and dreamy at the same time

Here's a real Rolls. Taken with my Crown Graphic, Schneider lens. It bucketed rain that day, but that didn't stop the die-hard car buffs, nor the looney with the 4x5. I routinely go out photographing in drizzle out here on the wet coast, but that day I wrung rivers out of my focusing cloth. The wettest I've ever gotten in pursuit of photographs.

Why is it that the only British sports car manufacturer that was able to do good looking designs was Aston Martin?

    OK I'll bite - why?

I take it that Jaguar, MG, Triumph, Morris, etc don't rate in your book.

Nice shots, Daniel. I still drool uncontrollably every time I see an AC Cobra!

Open your eyes or be careful not to troll.

    AC Cobra
    Jaguar
    Triumph
    MG
    Allard
    Noble
    Lotus
    Rolls Royce
    Bentley
    Lola

have all made some really nice car designs. (Many of them have had a portion of bad designs too)

There are a few other brands I could name but won't since I'm not aware of any good designs from them.

Actually, I never thought the AC looked all that great until Shelby got hold of it and did the fender flares and fat tires - what a transformation! As for the Triumphs, the TR6 is timeless (well, except for those ugly rubber "bumpers" they added to pass the 5mph crash tests in later years), and it's predecessor, the TR4A didn't look too bad in spite of those funky "eyebrows". Now if Lucas had just never decided to get into the automotive electronics industry......................

Another for my car club show. Printed 11x14

The tonal shift 1/3rd of the way across the image is where I married the 2 scans I had to make of the 11x14 print.

    Crown graphic, Schneider 135

You're absolutely right about Lucas electronics. Porsches and maybe other German cars used Lucas electronics for a while and there was a joke to the effect that Lucas was Great Britain's pay-back for WWII.
