    Glass Negatives

    Hello,

I have about 6 or 7 glass negatives dated 1900 on the bottom and was wondering if these are worth any money. They are about 14" wide by about 20" tall and are pictures that look like they are out of a gone with the wind scene, possibly on a plantation or something.

If you have any information for me please email to chrisdbrown@att.net.

    Any help would be appreciated.

My experience is that these types of artifacts are very interesting and worth preserving, but not particularly valuable. If, however, you notice that Abe Lincoln is on the porch sipping a mint julep ... that would make a big difference in value.

Those are very large glass plate negatives. Something that size might be more collectible. Maybe more historical value than anything.

It would be great if you could post some images of them here.

There are people that collect images. I have gone to meetings of the Michigan Photographic Historical Society (http://www.miphs.org/). Someone there might be able to help.
